Legong Peliatan, the most well known in the Ubud area, performs exclusively at
The Oberoi.
Legend tells that Legong developed in the Royal Palace of Bali in the last half of the
19th century, after the prince of Sukawati retold visions of his dreams. Of all the
classical Balinese dances, Legong remains the quintessence of grace and elegance.
Tirta Sari Dance Troupe & Musicians of Peliatan are regarded the masters of
Legong, and their village of Peliatan said to be the birthplace of this magical dance.
