About Roncolo 1888
The agricultural estate Venturini Baldini was founded in 1976 on a historic estate in the hills between Parma and Reggio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia. The hills reach an altitude of 370 metres and provide an excellent microclimate to grow vines, with the sun breaking the winter fog and cool greens tempering the summer heats. The 130-hectare estate, comprising 30 hectares of vineyards as well as woods and pastures, was one of the first in Emilia Romagna to obtain an organic certification.
The estate is not only part of a splendid naturalistic scenery, but has also a rich historical heritage Built on Matildic foundations, the current Villa Manodori dates back to the early 16th century, and still today recalls the ancient glories of the noble families who called it home, from the Marquises Fontanelli, to the Counts Galliani, the Counts Ancini, and finally in the 19th century, as residence of the Marquis Manodori.
Roncolo 1888 is the boutique relais of Tenuta Venturini Baldini, an oasis of peace immersed in the nature of the hills of Canossa Lands. A destination for all visitors who wish to explore Emilia and discover the excellences of the Food Valley and Motor Valley from a unique and evocative location.
The Relais is situated around the Villa Manodori and its gardens, which date back to the early ‘500 and after a long period of renovation have been returned to the previous splendor of the noble families who lived there in the past. Roncolo 1888 has been a residence of the families of the Marquis Fontanelli, the Counts Galliani, the Counts Ancini, and finally in 18th century of the Marquis Manodori, governor of Reggio Emilia.
Roncolo 1888 is the perfect location to celebrate your most important day. Our relais hosts elegant and suggestive solutions to welcome your guests in a unique atmosphere, both in winter and summer. On the lower level of the estate, you will find a spacious hall overlooking the green. The romantic garden with a century-old mulberry tree is a favourite for an outdoors event. On the upper level of the estate, our wine relais Roncolo 1888 and the gardens around Villa Manodori offer various venues for your event.
