About Ulusaba | Private Safari Game Reserve
Ulusaba is Sir Richard Branson’s private game reserve in South Africa, voted number 3 in the ‘Top Resorts in Africa’ by Conde Nast Traveler readers (US edition) in 2017. Ulusaba means “place of little fear”. That’s because the koppie where Rock Lodge sits provided the ancient Shangaan warriors with the perfect lookout point. Spend time at Rock Lodge and you’ll be flying with the eagles, or take a walk on the wild side back down to earth at Safari Lodge. Both Lodges are approximately 500 metres away from each other and are extraordinary in their own way. Each provides a unique and exceptional experience – something you’ll remember forever. All guests at Ulusaba can expect luxurious accommodation, outstanding food, twice daily game drives, safari walks, unforgettable views and plenty of smiles while you’re here with us in the African bush.
Our internationally renowned chefs have developed numerous pan-African dishes influenced by many African cultures, flavours and spices. Our recipes are constantly refreshed and consist of seasonal, local ingredients. Whether dining under the African sky, in the Boma, on a deck or in the dining room, our menus and meals promise to be exciting, social and inspirational.
Ulusaba has 21 rooms and suites spread over two lodges: Rock Lodge, including the beautiful Cliff Lodge, and Safari Lodge. This venue sits entirely within the Sabi Sand Reserve near Kruger National Park, surrounded by 13,500 hectares (about 33,000 acres) of open bush. The hills of Ulusaba are spectacular as they rise above the surrounding terrain, offering a view unsurpassed anywhere else in the reserve. People visit the area for the abundant game and the variety of sightings possible – believe us, once you’ve experienced it you’ll be hooked!
Note 1: Ulusaba is an all inclusive resort. The accommodation rates include all meals and drinks including the special wedding meal and drinks.
Note 2: Different wedding packages are available. The wedding package shown here is for the couple only where guests simply need to book their accommodation to be included in the wedding package. Prices listed here include a Safari Room during the normal season (7 Jan-30 Jun and 1 Sep-21Dec). For higher category rooms, the package price will be higher.
Note 3: For weddings during high season (1 Jul-31 Aug), the package price is ZAR 1,800 per person higher.
