About Amanpuri
Since its opening in 1988, the Thai beach resort of Amanpuri has established a reputation for personal service, fine cuisine and cruising, all of which complement the natural beauty of its tropical island surroundings. Named after the Sanskrit-derived words aman and puri meaning ‘place of peace’, Amanpuri’s 40 accommodation pavilions and other structures were designed to reflect the graceful architecture of the ancient Thai capital, Ayutthaya – the ruins of which can still be explored today in central Thailand.
On entering the resort, individual pavilions with scallop-tiled roofs soaring to lofty peaks are surrounded by regal coconut palms, and are surrounded in turn by a magnificent 27 metre midnight-blue swimming pool. Complimentary Thai tea is served daily in the afternoons from the steps of the pool pavilion, and this is also where traditional Thai music is performed most evenings. Other central pavilions house the reception, restaurants and bar, and overlook the swathe of stone steps leading down to Pansea Beach.
Here at Amanpuri, Aman Resorts’ flagship property, you will experience a wedding celebration filled with absolute luxury and elegance together with the turquoise expanse of the Andaman Sea as your backdrop.
